ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE ORGANIZED
The Ellwood City Colt League, for players ages 15-16, is organized by Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Program officers. The league is comprised of the Cubs, Reds, Frisco, Wampum, Koppel and New Galilee.
WAMPUM, FRISCO TIE, 1-1. IN OPENING GAME OF 1ST ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Wampum and Frisco tied 1-1 in the opening game of the 1st Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series. The game was called after seven innings due to darkness. Wampum's John Sharek threw a three-hitter and fanned 13 batters. Frisco's John Ferrante tossed a six-hitter. Jim DeMark and McCarter sinled twice for Wampum. Ferrante led Frisco with two singles.
WAMPUM EDGES FRISCO, 4-3, IN 1ST ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Wampum edged Frisco, 4-3, in the 1st Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Wampum. The win gave Wampum a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Ed Payne's sacrifice fly for Wampum in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie. Winning pitcher Chuck Hennon tossed a six-hitter for Wampum. Ralph Nye fired a two-hitter for Frisco. Sam DeCaria singled twice for Frisco.
WAMPUM DOWNS FRISCO, 4-0, TO WIN 1ST ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP BEHIND DEMARK
Behind the one-hit pitching of Jim DeMark, Wampum captured the 1st Ellwood City Colt League Championship with a 4-0 win over Frisco at Frisco. Wampum swept the best-of-three series, two games to none. Winning pitcher DeMark fanned eight batters. Tom Sbarra doubled and singled for Wampum.

REDS DOWN KOPPEL, 9-5, IN OPENER OF 2ND ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
The Reds downed Koppel, 9-5, in the opening game of the 2nd Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Koppel. The win gave the Reds a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Jeff Lash led the Reds with a triple, single and three RBI. Steve Pavick was the winning pitcher for the Reds.
REDS RALLY PAST KOPPEL, 5-4, IN BOTTOM OF 7TH INNING TO WIN 2ND ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Reds rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to slip past Koppel, 5-4, to win the 2nd Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Ewing Park Field. Steve Pavick erased a 4-3 Koppel lead with a two-run single to provide the winning margin. Chuck Belonzi and Jim Potter led the Reds with two-singles. Al Barbati had a two-run triple for the Reds. Terry Mack was the winning pitche n relief. Jeff Shablesky singled twice for Koppel.

SCHUSTER, BUKAC LEAD CUBS OVER KOPPEL, 1-0, IN OPENER OF 3RD ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
The Cubs edged Koppel, 1-0, in the opening game of the 3rd Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Koppel. The Cubs' Del Schuster hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning for the game's only run. Winning pitcher Jerry Bukac threw a five-hitter and fanned seven batters for the Cubs. Cubs' catcher Dave Blazin blocked two potential Koppel runners from scoring at the plate. Jeff Shablesky fired a two-hitter for Koppel. Pete Pietrandrea doubled twice for Koppel and Gil Burchart add a triple.
CUBS DOWN KOPPEL, 3-0, BEHIND BABCOCK ONE-HITTER TO WIN 3RD ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Bob Babcock fired a one-hitter to lead the Cubs to a 3-0 victory over Koppel to win the 3rd Ellwood City Colt League Championship at Ewing Park Field. The win completed a two-game sweep for the Cubs in the best-of-three series. Winning pitcher Babcock fanned nine of the first ten batters and finished with 15 strikeouts. Jeff Shablesky tossed a four-hitter for Koppel.

REDS EDGE CUBS, 3-2, IN OPENER 4TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
The Reds edged the Cubs, 3-2, in the opening game of the Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Ewing Park Field. The win gave the Reds a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Winning pitcher Don Wick threw 6-1/3 innings for the Reds. Stan Conti secured the win with 2/3 innings of work. Conti rapped a two-run triple and Andy Newton added an RBI-triple for the Reds.

The Reds defeated the Cubs, 7-0, to win the 4th Ellwood City Colt League Championship at Ewing Park Field. The Reds, managed by Ted Sowash, swept the best-of-three series, two games to none. Winning pitcher Ted Wehman fired a one-hitter and fanned 13 batters for the Reds. Mike Manzo had two singles and Don Wick had a two-run double to lead the Reds.

SHENANGO DOWNS KOPPEL, 5-1, BEHIND HUDAK IN OPENER OF 5TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Shenango downed Koppel, 5-1, in the opening game of the 5th Ellwood City Colt League Championship. The win gave Shenango a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Winning pitcher Joe Hudak tossed a three-hitter and allowed an unearned run. Tim Price, Jim Smiley and Nick Stroia each singled twice for Shenango. Don Scarazzo added a two-run single.
LAWSON LEADS KOPPEL OVER SHENANGO, 5-0, TO TIE 5TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Rich Lawson fired a two-hit shutout to lead Koppel to a 5-0 win over Shenango in the 5th Ellwood City Colt League Championship. The win knotted the best-of-three series at one game apiece. Winning pitcher Lawson fanned 13 batters. Bill D'Amico singled twice and drove in two runs. Rick Bender added a triple.
KOPPEL DEFEATS SHENANGO, 3-1, TO WIN 5TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP BEHIND LAWSON
Koppel defeated Shenango, 3-1, to win the 5th Ellwood City Colt League Championship. The win gave Koppel the best-of-three series, two games to one. Winning pitcher Rich Lawson fired a one-hitter for Koppel. Sam Fidell rapped a two-run single to lead Koppel at the plate.
ELLWOOD CITY AMERICANS DEFEAT HIGHLAND, 4-1, BEHIND WILLIAMS TO WIN ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
The Ellwood City Americans defeated Highland, 4-1, to win the Ellwood City Colt League Tournament. Winning pitcher Mark Williams hurled a two-hitter for the Ellwood City Americans. Dale Zeh led the Ellwood City Americans with three singles. Wayne Thornhill added an RBI-single.

KOPPEL DOWNS WAMPUM, 7-3, BEHIND BAT, ARM OF NARDONE TO WIN 6TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES OPENER
Koppel downed Wampum, 7-3, in the opening game of the 6th Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series opening game. The win gave Koppel a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Chuck Nardone led Koppel at the plate with a home run, triple and double. Winning pitcher Nardone fired a two-hitter for Koppel.
KOPPEL DEFEATS WAMPUM, 7-1, BEHIND LAWSON TO WIN 6TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Koppel defeated Wampum, 7-1, to win the 6th Ellwood City Colt League championship. Koppel, managed by Joe Nardone, won the best-of-three series, two games to none. Rich Lawson led Koppel at the plate with two doubles and a single. Winning pitcher Bob Botte threw four innings for Koppel. Lawson threw the last three innings and fanned six batters.

The Astros edged the Reds, 2-1, in the opening game of the 7th Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Sanders Field. The win gave the Astros a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Bill Gottuso's single drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Astros. Winning pitcher Jeff Potter scattered six hits and fanned 13 batters for the Astros. Dave Tammaro tossed a four-hitter for the Reds. Brian Conti led the Reds with a double and single. Tammaro added two singles.

The Reds scored in the bottom of the seventh inning to slip by the Astros, 4-3, in the Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Sanders Field. The win tied the best-of-three series at one game apiece. The Reds scored the winning run when Jeff Markle tripled and Don Coulter singled him in to break 3-3 deadlock. Markle led the Reds with a triple and single. Winning pitcher John Kish tossed a six-hitter for the Reds.

Behind the arm and bat of John Kish, the Reds edged the Cubs, 3-2, in the opening game of the 8th Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Sanders Field. Winning pitcher Kish fired a two-hitter and fanned nine batters. At the plate, Kish doubled and singled twice to lead the Reds. Tony Giorgi and Curt Fitzgerald singled twice for the Reds. Mark Hutchison scattered eight hits for the Cubs and added a double.

The Cubs edged the Reds, 9-8, in extra innings in the 8th Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Koppel Field. The win tied the best-of-three series at one game apiece. The Cubs scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, Don Mancini doubled and pinch-runner Scott Tritt moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt. Joe Mancini's two-out bunt single scored Tritt with the winning run. Winning pitcher Ed Romanoski scattered five hits for the Cubs. Romanoski led the Cubs at the plate with a triple, single and three RBI. Kim Foley singled twice and Don Mancini added a double.

The Cubs downed the Reds, 7-3, to win the 8th Ellwood City Colt League Championship. The Cubs, managed by Joe Mancini, won the best-of-three series, two games to one. The underdog Cubs won their final four regular season games to finish 9-9 to gain the final playoff spot. Winning pitcher Mark Hutchison tossed a seven-hitter for the Cubs. Phil Lagana led the Cubs with a double and a single. Joe Mancini and Paul Crofton singled twice for the Cubs. John Kish doubled for the Reds.

The Cubs broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the sixth inning. Wining pitcher Mark Hutchison scatterd seven hits without an earned run. Paul Martin led the Cubs with a double and single. Marty Lample singled twice and Ed Romanoski smacked a triple.

Winning pitcher Jesseman fired a two-hitter and fanned 12 batters. Dave Vetica led Frisco with a two-run homer and a single. Jesseman hit a three-run homer and Jim Gilleland belted a two-run homer.

Frisco downed Northeastern, 6-3, to win the 13th Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Riverside High School. Frisco, managed by Pat White, won the best-of-three series, two games to one. Winning pitcher Jesseman tossed a five-hitter for Frisco. Jesseman led Frisco at the plate with two doubles. Jim Gilleland singled twice and Dave Vetica and Dave Tillia doubled for Frisco.

NORTHEASTERN SLIPS BY RIVERSIDE, 4-3, IN OPENER OF 13TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Northeastern slipped by Riverside, 4-3, in the opening game of the 13th Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Sanders Field. The victory gave Northeastern a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Northeastern rallied for two runs in the top of the sixth inning to erase a 3-2 deficit. After a scoreless first inning, Northeastern scored two runs in the top of the second inning. Butch Rombold singled and Ernie Heyman reached on a fielder's choice forcing Rombold. Rick Pflug walked and Dennis Palmer followed with atrile to right field scoring both runners to give Northwestern a 2-0 lead. Riverside scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jim Brown walked, moved to second base on a ground out, moved to third base on an error and scored on Dale Lipan's single to slice the deficit to 2-1. Riverside took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Brad Brown walked and moved to second on a ground out. Jim Brown was walked intentionally and Jeff Pasquale singled to left field and both runners came around to score to give Riverside a 3-2 lead. Northeastern scored the game-winning runs in the top of the sixth inning. Bob Taylor walked and stole second base. Heyman reached on an error scoring Taylor to tie the score at 3-3. With Heyman at second base, Pflug singed to score Taylor to give Northeastern a 4-3 lead. Pflug relieved for Northeastern in the bottom of the sixth inning and fanned five Riverside batters in the final two innings. Curt Baumgardner was the winning pitcher for Northeastern with five innings of work. Pflug allowed one hit and fanned five batters in two innings to gain the save. Palmer led Northeastern with a triple and two RBI. Jeff Pasquale led Riverside with a triple and single with two RBI.
RIVERSIDE EDGES NORTHEASTERN, 8-7, IN EIGHT INNINGS TO TIE 14TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES-RIVERSIDE RALLIES FOR THREE RUNS IN SEVENTH INNING WITH TWO OUTS TO FORCE EXTRA INNINGS
Riverside edged Northeastern, 8-7, in eight innings in the 14th Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Sanders Field. The victory knotted the best-of-three series at one game apiece. Riverside rallied for three runs with two outs in the seventh inning to force extra innings. Riverside scored twice in the top of the eighth inning to break a 6-6 deadlock to take an 8-6 lead. Northeastern scored a solo run in the bottom of the inning to fall one run short of tying the game. Northeastern opened a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Bill Donley singled, stole second base and scored on an RBI-single by Steve Martin. Northeastern added two more runs in the bottom of the second inning. Rick Pflug singled and moved to second base on a wild pitch. Pflug moved to third base on a wild pitch. Curt Baumgardner walked and stole second base. On a delayed steal, Pflug scored to give Northeastern a 2-0 lead. Baumgardner scored on two ground outs to up the lead to 3-0. Riverside scored a run in the top of the third inning. Brad Brown walked, stole second base and scored on a double by Randy Ostrom to cut the deficit to 3-1. In the fourth inning, Riverside added another run. Jay Prawucki walked, stole second base, moved to third base on a wild pitch and scored on Craig Pensy's squeeze bunt to make the score 3-2. Riverside tied the score in the top of the fifth inning on a double by Jim Brown and a single by Jeff Pasquale to tie the score at 3-3. Northeastern took the lead back in the bottom of the fifth inning when Bill Donley reached on an error, stole second base and scored on a single by Martin to take a 4-3 lead. Northeastern added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Pflug reached on a two-base error and scored on Dennis Palmer's RBI-single to open up a 5-3 lead. Two errors and a ground out scored Palmer to increase the lead to 6-3. Riverside followed with a dramatic two-out rally to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning. Jeff Russell singled and was pinch-run for by Stan Kulesza. Pinch-hitter Perry Cotherman walked and Dale Lipan doubled scoring Kulesza to cut the deficit to 6-4. Brad Brown followed with a triple scoring Cotherman and Lipan to tie the game at 6-6. Northwestern failed to score forcing extra innings. In the top of the eighth inning, Riverside scored twice to take their first lead of the game. Jim Brown walked and took second base on a wild pitch. Jeff Pasquale singled and moved to second base on the throw to the plate. Chris Loccisano followed with a key two-run single to give Riverside an 8-6 lead. Northeastern scored a solo run in the bottom of the inning to cut the deficit to 8-7 before the rally came to an end. Lipan was the winning pitcher for Riverside with 6-2/3 innings of relief. He allowed one earned run and fanned eight batters. Pasquale led Riverside with two singles and a RBI. Brad Brown smacked a triple with two RBI. Lipan and Ostrom rapped RBI-doubles and Jim Brown doubled. Loccisano singled with two RBI. Martin led Northeastern with three singles and an RBI.
RIVERSIDE DEFEATS NORTHWESTERN, 13-0, TO WIN 14TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Riverside defeated Northwestern, 13-0, to win the 14th Ellwood City Colt League Championship at Sanders Field. Riverside, managed by Rich Ostrom, won the best-of-three series, two games to one. Riverside took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Brad Brown walked, stole second and third base and scored on a groundout. In the second inning, Craig Pensy tripled and scored on a fielder's choice to take a 2-0 lead. Riverside scored nine runs in the bottom of the third inning to pull away from Northwestern. A Jim Brown single, two errors and three walks gave Riverside a 5-0 lead. Brad Brown singled in a run to up the lead to 6-0. Randy Ostrom followed with a three-run triple to increase the lead to 9-0. Jim Brown followed with another triple to up the score to 10-0. Dale Lipan singled scoring Brown to up the lead to 11-0. In the bottom of the fourth inning an RBI-single by Ostrom raise the lead to 12-0 and invoked the 12-run rule. Winning pitcher Jeff Pasquale tossed a three-hit shutout in five innings of work. Ostrom led Riverside with a triple, single and four RBI. Jim Brown tripled and singled and Brad Brown singled twice.

LEIPER, KING LEAD WAMPUM OVER NORTHEASTERN, 3-0, IN OPENING GAME OF 15TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Len Leiper fired a two-hit shutout and Randy King tripled and doubled to lead Wampum to a 3-0 win over Northeastern in the opening game of the 15th Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Sanders Field. Wampum edged Northeastern, 3-2, to win the 15th Ellwood City Colt League Championship at Sanders Field. Wampum, managed by Sonny King, won the best-of-three series, two games to none. Northeastern took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning and held the lead for four innings. In the bottom of the fifth inning Wampum rallied for three runs to take the lead. Rob Ferrucci led off with a walk and Len Leiper reached on a fielder's choice. Mike Capalbo followed with a two-run triple to tie the score at 2-2. Capalbo scored on an error to give Wampum a 3-2 lead. Neither team scored the rest of the way and Wampum captured the title. Winning pitcher Doug Curry hurled a two-hitter for Wampum. Rick Pflug threw a three-hitter for Northeastern. Capalbo led Wampum with a triple and two RBI. Pflug led Northeastern with two singles.

FIRST SENECA WINS 16TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
First Seneca won the 16th Ellwood City Colt League Championship. First Seneca, managed by Bruce Davidson, won the regular season crown with a 15-1 record. Riverside finished in second place with a 10-6 record. First Seneca won their first playoff series in two games against Wur-Ell. Due to the beginning of varsity football practice, the final series was not completed.

HOGE FIRES NO-HITTER TO LEAD RIVERSIDE OVER AETNA, 2-1, IN OPENING GAME OF 17TH ELLWOOD CITY COLT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Bob Hoge fired a no-hitter to lead Riverside over Aetna, 2-1, in the opening game of the 17th Ellwood City Colt League Championship Series at Sanders Field. The win gave Riverside a one-game lead in the best-of-three series. Riverside took the lead in the bottom of the first inning. Jon Cowdery walked, stole second base and scored on a single by Jere Estabrook to take a 1-0 lead. Aetna tied the score in the top of the second inning. Rick Raman walked, went to second base on a passed ball and scored on an error to knot the score at 1-1. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Riverside scored the winning run. Scott Vannoy and Phil Eonta drew base on balls. After a passed ball, Cowdery hit a sacrifice fly scoring Vannoy to give Riverside a 2-1 lead. Winning pitcher Hoge fanned six batters in his no-hit victory. Rick Raman allowed three hits for Aetna in six innings of work.

Riverside defeated Aetna, 15-1, to win the 17th Ellwood City Colt League Championship at Sanders Field. Riverside won the best-of-three series, two games to none. Riverside took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on singles by Bob Hoge, Jon Cowdery and a two-run double by Steve Kuel. After a scoreless second inning, Aetna cut the deficit with a run in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI-triple by Carl Altman. Riverside took command of the game with five runs in the top of the fourth inning. Hoge drove in two runs to up the Riverside lead to 4-1. Steve Kuel singled in Hoge to increase the lead to 5-1. Jere Estabrook followed with a two-run homer to raise the lead to 7-1. In the fifth inning, Riverside added two more runs. Jon Cowdery rapped an RBI-double and Hoge an RBI-single to up the lead to 9-1. Riverside added three more runs in the sixth inning and two more runs in the seventh inning to account for the final margin of 15-1. Winning pitcher Estabrook fanned 12 batters for Riverside. Hoge led Riverside at the plate with a double and two singles. Cowdery added a double and single. Estabrook smacked a two-run homer. Altman led Aetna with a triple.

Wampum took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. First Seneca rallied for three runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 3-1 lead. Wampum sliced the lead to 3-2 with a run in the top of the third inning. Wampum scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning to regain the lead at 5-3. First Seneca responded with a seven-run explosion to retake the lead at 10-5. First Seneca scored a sol run in the fifth inning and added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to account for the final 15-5 margin. Bill Perry, Dave Churchman and Pat DeCaro each singled twice to lead First Seneca. Tom Vance led Wampum with two singles. Bob Gibbons was winning pitcher in relief.

First Seneca stretched their lead to 6-0 with another two-run rally in the bottom of the fourth inning. Wampum reduced the deficit to 6-2 with two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Wampum sliced the deficit to 6-5 with three runs in the top of the sixth inning. Wampum failed to score in the top of the seventh inning and First Seneca captured the title. Conti led First Seneca with a double , two singles and four RBI. Craig Young doubled and singled and drove in two runs. Ben Cox led Wampum with three singles. Pat McKelvey and Bil Perry singled and pat DeCaro followed with a single to give First Seneca a 1-0 lead. An error allowed two more runners to score to up the First Seneca lead to 3-0. Both teams scored a run in the third inning to make the score 4-1. After a scoreless fourth inning, Riverside Mark & Bob's added a solo tally in the fifth inning to decrease the deficit to 4-4. Neither team scored in the final two frames. Winning pitcher Jim Smith tossed a six-hitter for First Seneca. DeCaro led First Seneca with two singles. Lutz and Dan Yovich singled twice for Riverside Mark & Bob's. Hart added a double.

RBI-singles by Dan Yovich and Kirkham and a two-run double by Hardy keyed the rally. First Seneca scored twice on Pat DeCaro's two-run single in the top of the third inning to cut the deficit to 4-2. First Seneca added a solo tally in the fifth inning on Bill Hand's RBI-triple to cut the deficit to 4-3 . In the sixth inning, First Seneca'sBill Perry singled, stole second and third base and scored on DeCaro's sacrifice fly to knot the score at 4-4. After a scoreless seventh inning, the game went to extra innings. Neither team scored the rest of the way and Riverside Stiles captured the title. Winning pitcher Melfi held First National to two hits and fanned 12 batters. Darin Morella hurled a two-hitter and fanned 10 batters for First National. Yost led Riverside Stiles with a triple and Arkwright led First National with a home run.

Riverside Stiles added three more runs in the top of the fourth inning to increase their lead to 7-0. Koppel scored a solo run in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the deficit to 7-1. Riverside Stiles added three more runs in the top of the fifth inning to raise their lead to 10-1. Koppel exploded for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to slice the deficit to 10-7. After three scoreless innings, the teams remained tied at 1-1 entering the final frame. In the top of the seventh inning Koppel erupted for eight runs on eight hits to take a commanding 9-1 lead. Wampum failed to score in the bottom of the seventh inning and Koppel captured the crown. Winning pitcher Jeff Thellman tossed a four-hitter and fanned 10 batters for Koppel. Dino Scialdone drove in three runs and Jeff Thellman hurled a three-hitter to lead Koppel. Koppel scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning on Scialdone's two-run single to take a 2-0 lead. Wampum Leonetti's cut the deficit to 2-1 with a solo run in the top of the second inning. The score remained 2-1 until Koppel scored two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Scialdone tripled in a run to raise the lead to 3-1. Taz Reeher followed wit a triple scoring Scialdone to up the lead to 4-1. Wampum Leonetti's threatened in the seventh inning but the rally was cut short by a double play. Scialdone led Koppel with a triple, single and three RBI. Wampum Leonetti's scored single runs in the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead. After a scoreless third inning Wampum Leonetti's added three more runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 5-0 lead. Neither teams scored the rest of the way. Winning pitcher Miller allowed four singles for Wampum Leonetti's. John Staph led Wampum Leonetti's with three singles. Mike Hartzell and Mark Frederick had two singles apiece. Dino Scialdone rapped four hits and picked up the win in relief for Koppel. Wampum Leonetti's scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. After a scoreless second inning Wampum Leonetti's added a solo tally in the bottom of the third inning to up their lead to 3-0. In the top of the sixth inning Koppel scored two runs on RBI-singles by Brian Brooks and Dino Scialdone to cut the deficit to 3-2. In the top of the seventh inning Koppel's Ryan Van Kirk was driven home by Ron Thellman to tie the score at 3-3 and force extra innings.
